We got the chance to go home to Utah at the end of May. We didnt even know for sure if we were going until two days before we left. We only stayed for a week but it was so nice to be home.
Our girls did surprisingly well on the ride. Its a 14hr drive so I was a little worried that Tinsley would be screaming a good portion of the time because she does not like to be stationary for too long. But with only three stops they surpassed my expectations and watched movies the whole way there. You cant tell by the look on Riley's face, but she was soo excited to go and see grandma! Casey drove the whole 14 hrs because I was drawing most of that time. I was trying earnestly to get my friends wedding present finished on time.
The day after we got there we had a good friends reception to go to. The next morning Casey and I got ready and drove down to the Manti Temple to see our friends get sealed. It is such a beautiful temple and we were so grateful that we were able to go. I drew all the way there and finished the picture right before the luncheon after the wedding. I was relieved and grateful that I got it done.... although I did forget to take a picture. Dang!
Our girls were so excited that Grandma would read them a story every night before bed. If Riley had her was she would be read stories all night.
One of the nights before we left we got to go out to dinner with my parents and sister Missy. We loved getting to spend that time with them.
After dinner my parents took the kids home and Casey and I got to go out and see The Avengers. We love love love date nights! The movie was pretty good too :) Not the greatest picture but you get the idea.
Alas it came time to pack up and head for home. We headed home with a bunch more stuff than we came with. My mom had me haul my old barbie doll house up (which Riley loves), and I was also able to go and look through some things at my grandmas house and take home some things that used to be hers. I am so excited about those!
We stopped by Multnomah Falls on the way home. The girls got too see a train and walk under in. Which both scared them and thrilled them.
I love this guy!!
We made it home safe and sound, although we all brought home colds with us.
