Yay for Grandma & Grandpa! Visit 2012 part 1

July 27th started just like any other day except the girls and I had to get up and take daddy to work so that would could have the van.  The girls knew that they were getting a surprise sometime that day so they were very excited and were listening fairly well.  My parents were coming and we decided not to tell the girls so it could be a surprise (and so we wouldnt have to hear "mom I want to see grandma and grandpa" a million times before they got here).  I got the call from my parents around 10am that they were about 30 min away, so I loaded up the girls and took Casey his lunch and drove to the front gate. My parents made it before I did so they were inside waiting.  We pulled up and I opened the van door and said, "Are you girls ready for your surprise?"  I barely finished my sentence before Riley saw grandma through the window of the office and dashed out of the car screaming "GRANDMA!"  They were just a little excited :)

While my parents were here we had a few things planned that we wanted to do.  So on Saturday we went to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma.  It turned out to be the perfect day and time to go.

We headed to the Aquarium part of the park first so that we could watch the shark feeding.  We still had about 45 min before it started so we took the girls to the little tide pool area where they could look at and touch various little critters.  They were both mesmerized.

They had huge glass walls everywhere so that you could see all types of fish. It was pretty cool.  Casey and I agreed that it is way better than the aquarium up in Seattle and costs less.  Weird how that works isnt it?

We made it to the shark tank viewing area in time to get seats right up next to the windows.  I honestly cant remember how many sharks they had but there was a ton.  I personally have never seen a shark up close so I really liked this.  When they started the shark feed it was pretty awesome.  They lowered fish on these sticks for certain sharks and they would swim up and snatch it off.  Doesn't sound that cool but it was!

She loved being with grandma and grandpa!

 Monkeys!

We stopped and watched the little presentation that the had about all different types of animals. It was a little cheesy but the girls really liked it.  That go so into it by the end they were screaming what the instructors told everyone to say even when it wasnt time for them to say it.

Before the show started I turned to ask my mom a question and she looked up at me and I couldnt stop laughing.  So I insisted on taking a picture.  For those of you who dont know my mother this is her through and through.  We sure love her. :)

Me and my girls!

These things were as awesome as they were HUGE!

Like I said earlier we went to the Zoo at eh perfect time.  We made the shark feed, followed by the animal presentation and then the seal feed.  The girls loved all of these things and so we were really glad we got to see all of them.

My mother scared Casey half to death putting Riley up on this little ledge.  He couldnt see how she had her or that there was a wall, but it made me smile to see him get worried for our little one.

Tinsley had a stroller but insisted on being carried most of the time.  Of coarse...  Its a good thing she is so cute.  I wonder who she gets that from ;o)

 She loves her grandpa!

We had a pretty great day out at the Zoo and Aquarium with my parents!
