Fun in the Washington sun!

Up here in Washington we don't usually have too much sunshine from Oct-July (well at least the last 3 years we've been here).  This year has been a little different though.  Our whole winter was less rainy than usual, and then we started seeing sun in April! Shocker right there!!  Even though it is  usually always rainy, I do have to admit that I full heartedly do NOT miss the snow!

We moved to a new area at the beginning of the year, and we have been slowly exploring the area around us.  One of the cool things about Tacoma is just how many parks they have!  We have two withing a little bit of a walking distance.  One of those is the Wapato Park.  It has a little lake with a trail around it that you can walk/bike on.  It's a mile around it.  Anyways we took the girls there sometime in May and we just explored the park.

There is not a lack of wildlife here.  We found a bunch of baby ducks while walking around, and there is a family of turtles around there too.

This is a view from our walk around the lake.  That building is right next to a picnic area and a nice playground.  Casey took the girls back not long after this and let them ride their bikes around the lake a few times.  They loved that and have asked to do it again multiple times!

I mentioned above that I love the parks around here, truly though I haven't ever been in a short distance from so many awesome parks.  This one below is only around 15 min from my house and its one of at least 5 in that distance.

We went with a few ladies from church and their kiddos to a nearby splash park.  This was our first time going to one, and the girls absolutely loved it!

They had so many different things that spit out water.  The girls didn't quite know what to do with themselves besides run everywhere frantically trying to not miss any of it.

Now we are getting closer to fall, and we will for sure miss the sun and its warmth.  Until daylight savings time we will make the most of it though and enjoy what little bit of summer we have left!
